This is a combined role (Chaplain and Manager of Volunteer Services)

The Chaplain is responsible for the provision of spiritual care services to patients and families/caregivers of the hospice, either directly or through coordination of care with other spiritual counselors. We are looking for an experienced, compassionate, caring, and dynamic chaplain. Manager of Volunteer Services is responsible for planning, coordinating, and managing all aspects of the organizations Volunteer Program.

The Position:

The Chaplain will complete a spiritual assessment of patients and families/caregivers as well as keep documentation of the progress of the patient/family on the clinical progress note. He/she will coordinate and communicate with members of the interdisciplinary team in developing an individualized plan of care to meet identified spiritual needs and will provide direct spiritual care to patients and families/caregivers. Attends and actively participates in the interdisciplinary group meeting. The Manager of Volunteer Services will develop and maintain the training and orientation program as well as recruit, assign, coordinate, schedule, supervise and evaluate volunteers. And will coordinate support groups and education meetings. All through managing the budget and regulatory requirements.

The Requirements:

  • Graduate of an accredited seminary or school of theology and/or certification, CPE preferred
  • Documented evidence of appropriate training and experience counseling and addressing grief issues of the bereaved under the supervision of a qualified professional.
  • Hospice experience preferred working with death and dying, individuals/family/caregiver. 
  • Must have a Minimum of two years of Healthcare experience
  • Hospice and/or volunteer experience preferred.
