The Position:

The LPN is an integral part of the Hospice team and as such is responsible for the excellent delivery of care in every care setting. The LPN will receive calls from patients and/or family members and quickly respond to and access problems delivering high quality care in a crisis. Also, direct patient nursing care, recognize and interprets pain/symptom management and institute remedial measures, educate patient and family/caregiver, communicate to RN, medical director, attending physicians, etc regarding patient status changes or needs.

 The Requirements:

  • Must be a Licensed Practical Nurse in good standings, in the state of Louisiana with no restrictions. 
  • Must have (2) years’ experience as a LPN. 
  • Community health/hospice or medical/surgical experience is preferred.
  • Knowledge of hospice philosophy, grief-loss, death and dying processes
